1. The short version

KubeTitan is a desktop application that talks directly to the Kubernetes clusters you point it at. It has no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics and no crash reporting, and there is no server of ours for it to report to. This website sets no cookies.

The only party that sees your cluster traffic is the cluster itself. Everything else stays on your machine.

2. The desktop application

The app reads your kubeconfig (by default ~/.kube/config) to find the clusters and credentials you already use, and sends requests to those clusters' API servers. Nothing else. What that means in practice:

  • Credentials stay local. Tokens, client certificates and cluster addresses are read from your kubeconfig and held in the app's memory. They are never sent to us, because there is no service of ours to send them to.
  • Cluster data stays with the cluster. Resource listings, pod logs, exec sessions, terminal output and port-forward traffic travel between your machine and the cluster's API server, over the connection your kubeconfig already defines.
  • Nothing is uploaded. There is no sync, no cloud backup, no bring-your-own-key AI feature and no account, so there is no personal data for us to store, sell or lose.
  • Sessions end with the app. Shell sessions and forwards live in the process; closing the app ends them. The only thing written to disk is the app's own local state (saved port-forward definitions and UI preferences) in your user configuration directory, and you can delete it at any time.

3. This website

  • No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels. The site is static pages; there is nothing to consent to because nothing is set.
  • No third-party requests. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a font CDN, so loading the page does not tell anyone else that you visited it.
  • Server logs. The machine that serves these pages, like any web server, records requests (IP address, user agent, path) for a short period for security and abuse prevention, and those records are then discarded. We do not build profiles from them or join them to anything.

4. Third parties

  • GitHub. The source code, issues, pull requests and release downloads live on GitHub. If you open an issue or download a release, GitHub processes that under its own privacy policy, and anything you post publicly there is public.
  • Your Kubernetes clusters. The cluster's administrators, which may include your employer, can see API requests, log streaming and exec sessions through their own audit logs. That is their infrastructure and their policy, not ours.

There are no other third parties: no payment processor, no authentication provider, no email marketing tool, no error-tracking service.

5. What we do not collect

To be explicit, we do not collect or have access to your kubeconfig or credentials, cluster resource data, pod logs, terminal session content, port-forward traffic, IP addresses tied to your use of the app, or any file on your machine.

6. Children

KubeTitan is a developer tool for infrastructure administration and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

7. Your rights

Data-protection law (including the GDPR) gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection over personal data an organisation holds about you. We hold none about your use of KubeTitan, so there is nothing to request. If you believe we do, write to the address below and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app ever gains a feature that sends data somewhere (a hosted sync service, say), this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the date above will change. Until then, the guarantees on this page hold.

9. Contact

Privacy questions: [email protected]. The code is public at github.com/dotmethodme/KubeTitan, so you do not have to take any of this on trust. Every claim above can be checked against the source.
